You can never be too safe and sure when it comes to your security online. If given the chance, you should always improve the security of your accounts to prevent any problems later on. The good thing is that platforms like Telegram give you the option of better security.
As with most social media and messaging platforms, Telegram lets you enable 2FA or two-factor authentication for better security. What is this and what does it do?
What Is Two-Factor Authentication In Telegram And Why Is It Important?
Two-factor authentication is a form of security management wherein the person trying to get into an account, will need to pass two verification methods instead of one. Aside from the account’s password, you’ll also need to provide an OTP, fingerprint scan, facial scan, or other security measures.
There’s two-factor authentication on Instagram, Facebook, and nearly all platforms online. Each platform adapts its own measure for two-factor authentication.
In Telegram, you’ll need to provide a one-time code sent to your registered number when logging into a new device. Once two-factor authentication is enabled, you’ll need to provide a password to log in as well.
The primary purpose of 2FA is to ensure that your Telegram account is extra safe, preventing unauthorized access.
