How to Add Music to Snapchat Snap and Story – Featured and Custom

No matter if you’re old or young, we all know that music is amazing. And guess what? Snapchat makes it easy for both old and young people to share their favorite songs on Snapchat. You can share songs as pictures or stories. It’s cool, isn’t it? You can pick songs from Snapchat’s collection or use your own music. Let me show you how to do it!

What’s Sounds in Snapchat

Snapchat is trying out new stuff. One thing they’re testing is adding music to your pictures or videos, which you can then share with your friends or post on your story. You can use your own recorded music or pick from the music Snapchat has.

Even though we demonstrated this on an Android, you can do the same thing on an iPhone too.

1. Open Snapchat and pick a photo or video you want to put music on.

2. Tap the sound picture in the middle-right menu.

Pro Tip: You can hold and drag on the music track to move it anywhere on the screen.

Using Sounds in Snapchat to Add Custom Music

When we checked, we noticed that not all songs by every singer were available on Snapchat. Most of the popular ones were there, but if you enjoy listening to new and lesser-known artists as we do, you might not find all their songs on Snapchat. In this situation, you can put your own music in your Snapchat pictures or videos. Here’s how you can do it.

1. In the Sounds menu, tap on My Favorites. Then navigate to My Sounds.

4. If you tap on Upload From Camera Roll, then choose a media from your camera roll to act as the custom audio. Any video or audio can be chosen from the camera roll for the custom audio.

5. After getting the source media, give it a name. For example, we’ll name it Test.

6. Now tap on Save Sound to save it in Snapchat. It will appear in the My Sounds section and will be kept saved until you decide to delete it.

Imagine you’re jamming to an awesome song on Spotify, the one you and your friends danced to. Now, you want to share it with your friends on Snapchat, but you don’t want to bother with the whole process of picking sounds on Snapchat itself. Well, here’s a simple way to share the song directly from the Spotify app.

1. Open Spotify and start playing the music track that you want to share with your friends on Snapchat.

2. Tap on the Share icon at the bottom-right of the music player in the Spotify app. From the share menu, select Snapchat.

3. When you open Snapchat, it will show the cover picture of the song you’re listening to. You can send this like a story or a snap to your friends. There’s also a link to the song, so your friends can listen to it when they click the link.
