There are a couple of different ways you can add a spoiler tag to your messages on Discord. Depending on the context of the message, you can either censor the whole text or just a part of it.
Here are the ways you can filter out spoilers in your Discord text messages:
Hiding sensitive content on Discord for your phone is the same. You can use the /spoiler command, select specific bits of your text to censor them, or use Markdown to hide your messages using the vertical bars. Messages with spoilers can be revealed by clicking or tapping on them once and will remain visible till you switch servers or channels.
If you’re feeling daring enough, you can disable the spoiler warning completely by navigating to Settings > Text and Images > Show Spoiler Content and setting it to Always.
How to Add a Spoiler Warning to Images on Discord
You can also send images with a spoiler warning on Discord and the process is quite straightforward. However, unlike text messages, there is no way to add a spoiler tag to an image that has already been sent.
To add a spoiler warning to an image on Discord on your desktop or the web:
- Use the plus icon next to the chat box and click on Upload a File.
- From the file explorer, choose the image you wish to send and click on Open.
- Before sending the image as usual, click on the eye icon to mark the image as a spoiler. You can also click the pencil icon to edit the image and set a spoiler tag.
To add a spoiler tag to an image on Discord using your phone:
- Tap the plus icon next to the chat box, and select an image from your gallery.
- Tap on the selected image that appears in the chat box to reveal more options.
- Choose the Mark as spoiler option and send the image.
