5 Ways Bing’s AI Chatbot Is Getting Better

[ad_1]

Bing’s AI chatbot is now available to everyone for free without a waitlist. A more advanced version of Bing AI is also available on Microsoft Edge. Since it was introduced almost three months ago, Microsoft promised that it will improve over time.

True to its word, on May 4, 2023 Microsoft announced new features for Bing AI that make it a much better tool. Here are the new ways Bing’s AI chatbot is getting better.

1. Chat History

Microsoft has introduced an option to access your chat history on Bing’s AI chatbot. This means you can continue your previous conversations if you closed the AI chatbot and came back later. When implemented, it would be almost similar to the chat history feature available on ChatGPT.

However, at the time of writing, the chat history feature hasn’t yet been added to Bing AI—but in a post on the Microsoft Blog, Microsoft says it will be rolled out soon. Even so, you can still access your search history if you sign in to your Microsoft account when using Bing AI.

2. Third-Party Plug-Ins

Bing AI also plans to integrate third-party plug-ins, just like ChatGPT. With third-party plug-ins access, you can do much more with Bing AI, including booking flights, checking into a hotel room, shopping online, and making a restaurant reservation. On the other hand, if you’re a developer, you can integrate almost any service using Bing AI plug-ins.

When can we expect third-party plugins? Microsoft is yet to give a specific date, but it has announced that plug-ins are coming soon. Since OpenAI is rolling out new beta web browsing and plug-in features for ChatGPT, we expect Microsoft to follow closely behind.

Microsoft’s Bing AI chatbot has been upgraded to provide more visual answers with videos, images, graphs, and charts. However, Bing AI doesn’t include visuals every time you ask it a question. In most cases, you have to prompt it specifically to provide visuals.

Another cool thing is that you can prompt Bing AI to create images in more than 100 languages. You can also use Microsoft’s Bing image creator to generate unique AI images, similarly to tools such as DALL-E and Midjourney. This feature is currently available, so you don’t have to wait to try it out.

4. Bing AI Microsoft Edge Copilot

If you’re using the Microsoft Edge browser, you can browse different websites while you’re using the Bing AI chatbot in the sidebar. This could be the future of complementing AI chatbots with search engines, since you can read information on a website while asking the AI chatbot questions.

In addition to that, you can highlight any text on a website if you want Bing AI to explain it further. Microsoft also says that Bing AI will soon have features to summarize long-form websites and PDFs. However, you can still summarize PDFs and long-form websites if you prompt it on Microsoft Edge Copilot—so it’s likely that Microsoft will improve that feature.

What’s more, if you want to read the summary of a web page, Bing AI on Microsoft Edge includes that option if you navigate to the Insights tab.

5. Playing Movies and Collaboration Features

With Bing’s AI chatbot on Edge browser, it will soon be capable of executing an action such as playing movies on Netflix, Apple TV, HBO Max, or Disney Plus. Hopefully, Microsoft will also upgrade Bing’s AI chatbot so we can use it to discover new music and find playlists on Spotify.

Beyond that, Microsoft says collaboration features are coming to Bing’s AI chatbot. This will include export and share options if you want to collaborate with your friends or workmates.

Even so, you can still copy your content directly to Microsoft Word, Google Docs, or any other web page using the Add to site button under Compose tab in Bing’s AI chatbot—but this option is only available on Microsoft Edge.

Bing’s AI Chatbot Is Better With Microsoft Edge

If you want a better experience with Bing’s AI chatbot, you should use it on Microsoft Edge. In fact, some of the new features coming to Bing’s AI chatbot will only be available on Microsoft Edge. With its latest developments, Microsoft’s Bing AI is ahead of the curve to make it easier for you to browse the internet.
